Create a macro

Create a macro in Sketch 

  1. Open an estimate. 
  2. Select Estimate
  3. Select Sketch
  4. Click Options
  5. Select Macros to open the Macros dialog box. 
  6. Select Add.

 

  1. Type a name and description for your macro. 
  2. To add line items, select the Line Item radio button 
  3. Enter the Cat (Category), Sel (Selection), and Calculation.
You can select Bold or Underline so that items added with a macro can be differentiated from other line items. 
  1. Click Add Item
  2. Repeat steps 6-8 for each line item you want to include in the Macro. 
  3. Click OK to save your macro. 

Create a macro in Estimate Items — Method One 

  1. Open an estimate. 
  2. Select Estimate
  3. Select Estimate Items
  4. Select Items.
  5. Select Macros to open the Macros dialog box. 
  6. Select Add

  1. Type a name and description for your macro. 
  2. To add line items, select the Line Item radio button. 
  3. Enter the Cat (Category), Sel (Selection), and Calculation for a line item.  
You can select Bold or Underline so that items added with a macro can be differentiated from other line items. 
  1. Click Add Item
  2. Repeat steps 6-8 for each line item you want to include in the Macro. 
  3. Click OK to save your macro.  

Create a macro in Estimate Items — Method Two 

  1. On the Estimate Items tab, select Items.  
  2. In the grouping pane, right-click a structure or group with the line items you want to save as a macro. 
  1. Select Save Macro to open the Macros dialog box. 
  2. Enter a code and description. 
  3. Click OK to save your macro.
