Short descriptions of all profile features

Profile features are functions that can be added to estimates in your profile. They can affect many parts of your projects, such as what fields are included, the data available in certain reports, required information about the insured, and more. 

Profile features can be added from our library of features, or new features can be custom-made specifically for your profile. 

Note: To learn more about profile features, add them to your profile, or request a custom feature, reach out to your Verisk account manager. 

We have over 250 profile features available. Here is a brief description of each one. 

Feature name 

Short description 

(Last, First) on contact name 

Users can choose how the contact’s name is entered in the project.  

Accumulate removal with category 

This accumulates removal items with their own category instead of defaulting to the DMO category. 

Add price list categories through estimate 

This profile feature allows users to add category lists inside an estimate. 

Adds a Coverage Factor checkbox column to Coverages view 

This adds a Coverage Factor checkbox column to the Coverages view. 

Adjusting Field Office 

This adjusts the Field Office field in Loss Info. 

Agent code 

If this feature is on, the Agency field is visible in Admin Info. 

Allow assigned before entered 

When this feature is enabled, assigned dates can be earlier than entered dates. 

Allow creation of macros 

When this profile feature is on, users can create macros. 

Allow editing of system narrative sections 

This allows users to edit system narrative sections in reports. 

Allow modify taxes 

This profile feature allows users to modify taxes associated with price lists.    

Allow Save to Photo Library 

When the Allow Save to Photo Library profile feature is on, users can save photos they took in Xactimate mobile to their device (iOS only). 

Allow the Main Street Renewal report 

This allows users to create the Main Street Renewal report. 

Allow user to edit Year Built field 

This allows users to edit the Year Built field. 

Allows user to set a factor on a replace item that is different than the replace item’s coverage’s factor 

When this feature is enabled, users can set factors on replace items as long as that factor is different than the replace item’s coverage factor. 

Allows user to set a factor on all activity items that are different than the item’s coverage factor except for Remove items 

If this feature is active, users can set factors on all activity items except for Remove items as long as that factor is different than the item’s coverage factor. 

Allows user to set a factor on an item that is different than the item’s coverage factor 

When this is on, users can set factors on items. These factors must be different than an item’s coverage factor.  

Ask if using ITEL 

Before users can complete estimates, they are asked if they are using ITEL. 

Assignment transferred and removed 

Using data transfer, assignments can be removed from Xactimate or transferred back to the estimate from the file system. 

Auto-fill time for Admin date fields 

This automatically fills time fields when a date is entered in Admin Info. 

Automatically upload activity reports 

This automatically uploads activity reports. 

Calculate the deductible as a percentage of the policy limit 

If this feature is on, users can calculate the deductible for individual coverages as a percentage of that coverage’s policy limit. 

Catastrophe 

Enabling this profile feature makes the Cat Code field visible in Claim Info. 

Cause of Loss required 

This requires users to populate the Cause of Loss field. 

Checkpoint Price List matching 

This populates the checkpoint price list when the user chooses a regular price list.  

Claim number and Policy number are required 

If this feature flag is enabled and the No Type of Loss field is required, the Claim Number is also required. 

Claim Number in Valuations

This profile feature displays the Claim Number field in the Owner Information box within Valuations. 

Claim Rep and Estimator fields not required 

The Claim Rep and Estimator fields are not required when this feature is enabled. 

Claim Rep 

This makes the Claim Rep field visible and required in Claim Info.  

Claim Status dropdown 

This causes the Claim Status dropdown menu to appear in the Complete tab in Xactimate.   

ClaimXperience Personal property hide email text 

This hides the ClaimXperience Personal property adjuster email text. 

ClaimXperience Personal property hide insured email 

This hides the ClaimXperience personal property adjuster email address. 

Clear roof replacement 

This clears the roof replacement selections when users change an estimate's status to In Progress. 

Construction Design Management 

This makes the Construction Design Management questions visible in Claim Info. 

Contents Cat/Sel review 

This ensures the Contents Cat/Sel review is completed before an estimate is marked Complete. 

Contractor 

This makes the Contractor field visible in Claim Info. 

Coverage factor 

The Factor and Apply Factor columns are visible in Coverages.  

Coverage limit overage check 

This checks for coverage-on-coverage limits. 

Credit items 

Users can mark items as credit items.  

Custom column headers 

This allows users to adjust column headers in estimates. 

Date Contacted field 

This makes the Date Contacted field visible and required for manually created estimates.  

Date contents completed 

This makes the Contents Completed field visible and required in Claim Info if the estimate is associated with contents coverage. 

Date Job Completed 

This changes the title of the Date Inspected field to Job Completed.  

Date of Loss 

When this is turned on, the Date of Loss field is visible in Admin Info. 

Date Project Assigned 

Enabling this feature flag changes the Date Received field to Date Assigned and makes the field mandatory.  

Date Project Completed 

Enabling this feature changes the Date Inspected field to Est. Completed.  

Date Projected Complete not required 

If you enable this feature flag, the Date Projected Complete field is not required. 

Date Projected Complete 

This makes the Target Completion field visible in Claim Info.  

Date Projected Start not required 

If you enable this feature flag, the Date Projected Start field is not required. 

Date Projected Start 

This makes the Target Start field visible in Claim Info. 

Deductible Reward display 

This displays Deductible Reward instead of Deductible Credit in Claim Info and reports. 

Denial / partial denial 

This shows covered loss, denial, partial denial, and letter radio buttons in Claim Info and Coverage Loss controls. 

Dep Mat is checked 

The Depreciate Materials option is checked. 

Dep Mat is enabled 

The Depreciate Materials option is visible. 

Dep Non-Mat is checked 

The Depreciate Non-Materials checkbox is checked. 

Dep Non-Mat is enabled 

The Depreciate Non-Materials option is visible. 

Dep Taxes is checked 

The Depreciate Taxes option is checked. 

Dep Taxes is enabled 

The Depreciate Taxes option is visible. 

Depreciate Addons option is checked 

Enabling this makes Depreciate Addons the project default. 

Depreciate Addons option is enabled 

The Depreciation O&P checkbox is available in Parameters. 

Depreciate labor minimums 

This allows users to depreciate labor minimums. 

Depreciate Removal option is checked 

This checks the Depreciate Removal box by default. 

Depreciate Removal option is checked 

The Depreciate Removal option is checked. 

Depreciate Removal option is enabled 

If this feature is on, the Depreciate Removal option is available in Xactimate. 

Depreciate Removal option is enabled

Direct supplier request 

This sends requests to Verisk’s Direct Supplier API.  

Disable O&P default modification 

This stops users from making changes to the default O&P settings. 

Do not default upgrade items to PWI 

Line items assigned to an upgrade coverage will, by default, not be marked as Paid When Incurred (PWI). 

Do not include Claimant contact 

Do not include the Claimant contact. 

Do not require override reason 

When this feature is active, override reasons are not required. 

Do not send English reports 

When this feature is enabled, English reports are not automatically sent to XactAnalysis. 

Do not use a default price list 

When this feature is enabled, price list defaults are not available, and the Price List and Tax Jurisdiction fields do not appear. 

Don't reset project status on assignments 

If this feature is enabled, downloaded assignments are marked Complete to ensure Payment Tracker info is not affected. 

Dry out days required 

When this is on, the Dry Out Days cause of loss field is required. 

Enable Appointment Date 

This makes the Appointment Date field visible in Claim Info.  

Enable Appraisal form 

This enables the Appraisal form for estimates. 

Enable Cat Code for assignments 

This enables Cat Codes in assignments. 

Enable Claim Number on assignment 

This enables the Claim Number field in assignments. 

Enable Date of Loss if empty on assignments 

This enables the Date of Loss field if it is empty in assignments. 

Enable Date of Loss on assignment 

This enables the Date of Loss field in assignments. 

Enable Date Received for assignments 

This makes the Date Received field editable in assignments. 

Enable Date Received if empty on assignments 

This enables the Date Received field if it is empty in assignments. 

Enable Factoring checked by default 

The Enable Factoring checkbox on the Roof Schedule Options dialog is checked by default. 

Enable insured address for assignments 

Enable this feature to choose what type of address users can enter in the Claim Info window. 

Enable Insured Name for assignments 

This enables the Insured Name field on assignments. 

Enable Insured Name if empty on assignments 

This enables the Insured Name field if it is empty on assignments. 

Enable Insured Zip Code for assignments 

This enables the Insured Zip Code field in assignments. 

Enable Policy Number if empty on assignments 

This enables the Policy Number field if it is empty in assignments. 

Enable Policy Number on assignment 

This enables the Policy Number field in assignments. 

Estimator 

If you enable this profile feature, the Estimator in Claim Info is visible and required. 

Exclude internal notes on auto-upload reports 

When this is on, reports that are automatically uploaded to XactAnalysis do not show internal notes. 

Exclude recoverable depreciation 

This controls the visibility of an estimate report print-time option that allows users to dismiss recoverable depreciation. 

Export depreciation percentage 

Enabling this feature adds a Depreciation Percentage column in the line item Excel export. 

Export line items to Excel Contents Import template 

When this is on, users can export line items to the Excel Contents Import template. 

Export the Cost Comparison Report information to an Excel file. 

This lets users export the Cost Comparison Report information to an Excel file. 

Factor on Dwelling or Other Structures 

This hides the Factor Percent and Apply Factor fields on all coverages except Dwelling and Other Structures. 

Field Estimate 

The Field Estimate feature allows users to send completed estimates to XactAnalysis even if the estimates don’t originate from XactAnalysis.  

Field Valuation 

The Field Valuation profile feature allows users to send complete valuations to XactAnalysis. 

Format phone area code with dash on reports 

This formats phone area codes with dashes in reports. 

General Contractor O&P 

This displays the General Contractor Overhead & Profit option. 

Generate English version of report with culture version 

When a report is printed or viewed from the print dialog in a language other than English, an English version of the report will be generated at the same time. 

Grand Total Adjustment 

This makes the Grand Total Adjustment menu option visible. 

Hide additional coverages 

This hides additional coverages. 

Hide Custom Documents screen from Print UI 

This hides the Custom Documents screen in Print and Report macros. 

Hide Desk Adjuster 

This hides the Desk Adjuster field. 

Hide Edit button in Template Document section 

This hides the Edit button in the Template Docs section of Reports. 

Hide Include line item notes print option in Payment Tracker 

When enabled, this hides line item notes, system notes, and internal notes in Payment Tracker reports. 

Hide Inspection Not Performed check box 

This hides the Inspection Not Performed checkbox in Insured Info. 

Hide Internal Note 

This hides the Internal Notes option. 

Hide Mortgagee field 

This hides the Mortgagee in Claim Info. 

Hide Policy Type field 

This hides the Policy Type field on the Coverage Loss page. 

Hide print UI Attach to email button 

Enabling this feature changes the name of the Email Reports page to Export Options. The Attach to Email button is also not visible. 

Hide print UI Line Item Detail tab 

This removes the Line Item Detail page from Estimate Reports. 

Hide Show Inspection Link menu item 

This hides the Show Inspection Link menu item. 

Hide Sketch symbols list 

This hides the Sketch symbols list. 

Hides the Reprice checkbox in the Global Changes wizard 

This hides the Reprice checkbox in the Global Changes wizard. 

Ignore item depreciation under 

If this is enabled, users can choose whether or not to apply depreciation less than a specific amount. This lets the user choose not to apply depreciation less than a specific amount. 

Import assignments 

This shows the XML and assignment import menu option. 

Import export client 

This profile feature allows you to select a contact from your Contacts list and automatically populate the fields in the Insured Info tab.  

Include device location on Complete 

This includes device locations when a project is being completed.  

Include Sketch In completion package Estimate reports 

All Estimate reports generated as part of the assignment completion package include a Sketch section if this feature is enabled. 

Include Sketch in completion package Final Draft Report 

When an assignment is complete in Xactimate and sent to XactAnalysis, it includes the Final Draft Report. 

ING Cash Settlement 

This lets the user set reduction percentages, which are used to calculate the ING Cash Settlement amount. 

Inside Claim Handler 

This makes the Inside Claim Handler checkbox visible in User Preferences. 

Inspection threshold 

This allows users to set a grand total threshold for inspections. 

Integrated search for Amazon not allowed 

This turns off the Amazon integrated search. 

Integrated search for eBay not allowed 

This turns off the eBay integrated search. 

Integrated search for Google not allowed 

This turns off the Google integrated search. 

ITEL submit form 

This enables the ITEL submit form for assignments.  

Key Holder 

Enabling this feature activates the Key Holder Contact field. 

Language approved Dutch (nl-NL) 

This enables the Dutch (nl-NL) language pack. 

Language approved English (en-AU) 

This enables the English (en-AU) language pack. 

Language approved English (en-GB) 

This enables the English (en-GB) language pack. 

Language approved English (en-NZ) 

This enables the English (en-NZ) language pack. 

Language approved French (fr-CA) 

This enables the French (fr-CA) language pack. 

Language approved French (fr-FR) 

This enables the French (fr-FR) language pack. 

Language approved German (de-DE) 

This enables the German (de-DE) language pack. 

Language approved Portuguese (pt-BR) 

This enables the Portuguese (pt-BR) language pack. 

Language approved Spanish (es-ES) 

This enables the Spanish (es-ES) language pack. 

Language approved Spanish (es-MX) 

This enables the Spanish (es-MX) language pack. 

Limit to three coverages 

This limits Coverage entries to three. 

Lock company headers list from being modified except by Carrier 

This locks the company header list so it can only be modified via XactAnalysis update, data transfer, or by a user with override privileges. 

Lock Line Description and Unit Type 

This locks the Line Description and Unit Type fields in Estimate Items. 

Lock Max Depreciation 

This locks the Max Depreciation field. 

Lock Property Claim Agreements list from being modified except by Carrier 

This locks the Property Claim Agreements list so that it can only be modified via XactAnalysis update, data transfer, or by a user with override privileges. 

Lock system settings from being modified except by Carrier 

This locks the system settings so they can only be modified via XactAnalysis update, data transfer, or by a user with override privileges. 

Locks down the ability to modify settings for the Waste Inspection rule 

This prevents users from modifying settings for the Waste Inspection rule. 

Loss Reporting Full Fencing Replacement 

This makes the Loss Reporting Full Fencing Replacement dropdown menu visible on the Coverage & Loss screen. It collects data for transmission to XactAnalysis. 

Loss Reporting Full HVAC Component Replacement 

This makes the Loss Reporting Full HVAC Component Replacement checkbox visible on the Coverages & Loss screen. 

Loss Reporting Full Roof Replacement 

This makes the Loss Reporting Full Roof Replacement checkbox visible on the Coverages & Loss screen. 

Loss Reporting Full Siding Replacement 

This makes the Loss Reporting Full Siding Replacement checkbox visible on the Coverages & Loss screen. 

Loss Reporting Full Wood Flooring Replacement 

This makes the Loss Reporting Full Wood Flooring Replacement checkbox visible on the Coverages & Loss screen. 

Loss Reporting Paid Bill Only 

This makes the Loss Reporting Paid Bill Only checkbox visible on the Coverages & Loss screen. 

Loss Reporting Partial Roof Replacement 

This shows the Loss Reporting Roof Replacement dropdown and hides the Full Roof Replacement checkbox on the Coverages & Loss screen. 

Loss Reporting Waiver 

This makes the Loss Reporting Waiver checkbox visible on the Coverages & Loss screen. 

Make ITEL area of loss approximation mandatory 

If enabled, this feature requires users to enter a value into the Approximate Area of Loss field on the ITEL submit form before submitting a sample. 

Match using only items IDs in QR comparisons 

This makes it so items with the same Item ID always match, and items with different Item IDs do not match. 

Modify notes on assignment 

If this feature is enabled, users can modify project notes for assignments. 

No catastrophe required option 

This makes the required Catastrophe Code checkbox visible in Preferences > Project Defaults. 

No Claim Manager 

When this feature is enabled, many fields, reports, and options in Rule Management (previously Claim Manager) are hidden. 

No Claimant Contact 

This hides the Loss Payees card on the Claim Info page.  

No closing statement 

Enabling this feature hides all text, UI, and printed material concerning closing statements. 

No coverage type 

This removes the Other Structures and Contents options as available coverage types. The coverage type fields from Edit Unit Price, the Estimate Reports page, Global Estimate Changes dialog, and Global Estimate Changes Pause dialog are also removed. 

No default bundles 

When enabled, this feature sets the Bundles/SQ default to do not apply. 

No deleting assignments that are not uploaded 

Enabling this feature prevents assignments that have not been uploaded to XactAnalysis from being deleted. 

No depreciation 

This hides all depreciation features. 

No overhead and profit 

This hides all overhead and profit functionalities. 

No Report Editor 

This hides the Report Editor menu option. 

No Type of Loss requirement 

This makes the Claim Number, Policy Number, Deductible, and Type of Loss fields in assignments editable, but not required. 

No waste 

These are prompts users receive prior to running an inspection for flooring and roofing waste. 

No XactTotal module 

This hides the Seismic Zone and Climate Code fields as well as the Copy button on the Zip Code Edit window. 

Non-price list items in estimate 

If non-price list items are added to the estimate, the default activities (remove, replace, detach and reset, and repair) are available. 

Only allow profile-specific price lists 

If this feature is enabled, users can only use profile-specific price lists. 

Paid when incurred 

When the Paid when incurred profile feature is enabled, the Paid When Incurred option appears in Estimate Items. 

Pay Actual Replacement Cost 

This sets Pay Actual Replacement Cost as the default in Payment Tracker.  

Payment Tracker Excel export import 

This includes the Excel import and export functions in Payment Tracker. 

Payment Tracker pay by coverage 

When this is active, Payment Tracker tracks benefits at a coverage level instead of a line item level.  

Payment Tracker  

Track and pay expenses in the Payment Tracker feature. 

Permit as line item 

If this feature is turned on, the user can't enter a permit through line item entry; instead, it must be added as a fee line item by the user.  Any existing permits will be converted to line items. 

Phone control enabled for assignments 

This enables the Insured Phone field in assignments. 

Policy Number not editable on assignments 

The Policy Number field is read-only in assignments. 

QR ACV error no show 

This removes the Quality Review ACV error percentage. 

QR exclude code upgrade amounts 

This excludes code upgrade amounts when QR amounts are being computed. 

QR form responses 

This saves Xactimate QR form responses when a QR assignment is reopened. 

Receipt ARC includes all ACV 

When this is enabled, the Actual Replacement Cost (ARC) of all items (and not just replaced items) are included on receipts in Payment Tracker. 

Receipt ARC method cannot be modified 

The method to calculate the Actual Replacement Cost (ARC) of receipts displayed in Payment Tracker cannot be modified by the user. 

Reference is Insurer 

This changes the label for Reference to Insurer. 

Reference 

This makes the Reference field visible in Claim Info. 

Remodeling 

This feature controls certain settings for remodeling, including visible menu items, available fields, required information, and more. 

Remove Additional Charges Tax as 

This hides the Tax as field in Additional Charges. 

Remove after upload 

This removes assignments after they are uploaded. 

Remove all overhead and profit functionality 

This removes all overhead and profit functions. 

Remove Paid When Incurred for additional coverages 

This hides the Paid When Incurred checkbox for items that are part of an additional coverage. 

Reprice on Complete or ReportS 

This gives the user the option to reprice items on the Reports or Complete page.  

Require Contact and Inspect Time 

This requires the Administrative Info Contact and Inspect Time fields. 

Require location services to complete 

When this is enabled, users are required to use location services before they can complete a project. 

Require underwriting company 

This requires the underwriting company, if there is one, in reports where it is an option. 

Roof Type and Age editable 

The Roof Type and Age fields are editable when this feature is active. 

Roof type and age 

This shows the roof type and age. 

Roofing factor options 

If this is enabled, users can use roof factor options to determine what factoring options are available in estimates. 

Roofs exclude ungrouped valleys 

If this feature is enabled, the valleys that join an ungrouped roof to a grouped roof no longer contribute to the VAL variable of the grouped roof. 

Salvage retention entered per line item 

Activate this feature to mark items as damaged or salvage items. 

Show all permit and fee calculation types 

Users can see all permit and fee calculation types and set them as defaults for additional charges when this feature is enabled. 

Show deductible credit UI based on show DedCreditUI XML attribute. 

When this is active, the Deductible Credit option is visible. 

Show Drying Days 

This shows the Drying Days option in Loss Info. 

Show File Number 

This makes the Adj. File Number field visible in the Coverages & Loss section of Claim Info. 

Show Mitigation Estimate field 

This makes the Mitigation Estimate field visible in Claim Info. 

Show Number of Rooms Affected 

This shows the Number of Rooms Affected field in the Coverages & Loss tab in Claim Info. 

Show O&P as PWI amount in Summary report 

This displays a checkbox that, when checked, treats all overhead and profit in the estimate as Paid When Incurred. 

Show Pictometry request option 

When this is on, the Pictometry menu item is available in Tools. 

Show roof damage replacement information 

Enabling this profile feature makes roof damage replacement information visible in the Loss Info card.  

Show Roof Slope total vs Repair Tool 

This shows the Roof Slope total instead of the Repair Tool link in Tools. 

Show the Year Built field in the Loss Info section 

This shows the Year Built field in the Loss Info section. 

Show total loss 

This shows the total loss checkbox on the change status window. 

Show XactScope tab in Sketch 

This shows the XactScope tab in Sketch. 

Signature capture 

This lets users import or draw signatures in Preferences.  

Sketch custom roof waste 

This allows users to input custom roof waste percentages in the Item property editor. 

Tax on Neither 

This sets all tax types to Neither. 

Third-party communication 

Enabling this profile feature allows users to interact with third-party vendors. 

Time & Materials 

This adds Time & Materials reports and functionality to the estimate if the module has been purchased.   

Track Supplements and Corrections 

When this feature is on, Payment Tracker can track Supplements and Corrections.  

Turn off ClaimXperience Personal Property 

This turns off the ClaimXperience Personal Property feature. 

Turn off Contents cat/sel review auto-suggest 

This feature prevents the Cat/Sel review from automatically searching for a list of appropriate categories and selectors based on the description. 

Turn off Contents Collaboration for Ontario 

This turns off Contents Collaboration for Ontario. 

Turn off Coverage Deductible fields for assignments 

This turns off the Coverage Deductible fields in assignments. 

Turn off Distribute Market Conditions checkbox 

This turns off the Distribute Market Conditions checkbox in Parameters. 

Turn off Manual Flooring Cuts 

This turns off Manual Flooring Cuts. 

Turn off O&P default 

This sets the default values for overhead and profit (O&P) to 0. 

Turn off Preserve Item description 

This turns off the Preserve Item description when replacing checkboxes in Parameters. 

Turn off the inspection wizard in a sidebar within Xactimate 

When this is active, the inspection wizard does not appear in the sidebar in Xactimate. 

Turn off the real time scoring component within the inspection results sidebar 

This turns off the real-time scoring component in the inspection results sidebar. 

Turn off Video Collaboration 

This turns off the Video Collaboration feature. 

Type of Estimate 

This renames the Type of Loss card to Type of Estimate in Claim Info. It also adds a File Number field. 

Type of Loss list select only 

Enabling this profile feature prevents users from adding, editing, or removing loss types from the Type of Loss menu. 

UK claim reports 

This enables UK claim reports. 

Underwriting Checklist Inside Representative option 

This shows the Inside Rep checkbox in the User Preferences / System setup window. 

Underwriting Checklist required 

If the Underwriting Checklist feature and this feature are enabled, the checklist is required and must be finished before the estimate can be marked Complete.  

Underwriting Checklist 

When this feature is on, the Underwriting Checklist is available in your profile. 

Upload in-progress estimates 

This profile feature allows users to manually upload an Xactimate estimate to XactAnalysis before it is complete.  

Use median price 

The enables transition variables in Sketch. 

Use new TPI workflow 

This allows users to make Data Requests with the TPI workflow. 

Use onsite checkbox w/estimated onsite option 

This determines whether or not the Estimated onsite checkbox appears in Claim Info > Insured Info > Dates. 

Use Onsite checkbox 

This shows the Onsite Inspection and Printed Onsite checkboxes in the Claim Info window. 

Use pricing note 

Users can enter pricing notes for contents items, which are transferred to ClaimXperience Personal Property Additional Information requests. 

Use Sketch roof transition variables 

This enables the use of transition variables in Sketch. 

Valid tax jurisdiction to print 

This requires a valid tax jurisdiction before printing an Estimate Report. 

Vendor Invoices 

This shows the Vendor Invoices menu option in the Online Estimate Writer. 

Vendor requests 

The Vendor requests profile feature allows you to communicate with and make requests for third-party vendors. 

Video capture 

Turning on this profile feature allows users to capture videos in Xactimate mobile. 

Water Loss categories – additional types of loss 

When this is active, different water loss categories are available, including free, fire, wind, hail, and ice/snow. 

Water Loss categories – all types of loss
