Creating and using templates in Xactimate online

Create templates in Xactimate online  

  1. Open an estimate. 
  2. Select Documents from your side navigation menu. 
  3. Select Reports
  4. Select the Documents tab. 
  1. Select Template Docs
  2. Select Export Templates.  
  3. Choose a location in the File Explorer window, then select Save
  4. Open the template you exported. 
  5. Customize the template as needed by inserting tokens (see the Insert tokens section below).  
  6. Save the template and import it into Xactimate online. 

  

Import a template into Xactimate online 

  1. Save and close the Word document you created from the template. 
  2. Open an estimate. 
  3. Select Documents from your side navigation menu. 
  4. Select Reports
  5. Select Template Docs
  6. Select Import to open a File window. 
  7. Select the file you want to import. 
  8. Select Open to import the new template. 
Note: You can change how you import templates by changing your preferences in the Import Settings drop-down menu. 

  

Insert tokens 

  1. Open an estimate. 
  2. Select Documents from your side navigation menu. 
  3. Select Report Management
  4. Select Insured Correspondence.  
  1. In the text box on the right under Administrative Info, select the Tokens icon to open a window with a full list of tokens.
  1. Select one token. 
    1. Use the search option or scroll through the token list to find your token. 
    2. Select your token.
    3. Select OK. This closes the token window, and the token you selected appears in the text box in Report Management.  
    4. Copy the token.  
    5. Return to your template. Paste the token into your template. 
  2. Or copy and paste from a full list of tokens. 
    1. Select Options to open a drop-down menu. 
    2. Select Send List to
    3. Select Open as PDF to open a full list of tokens. 
    4. Copy tokens from the PDF list and return to your template. 
    5. Paste the token into your template. 
    6. Repeat as needed. 

Generate a document by using a template 

  1. Open an estimate. 
  2. Select Documents from your side navigation menu. 
  3. Select Reports
  4. Select the Documents tab.  
  5. Select Template Docs. 
  6. Select a template. 
  7. Select Export Report
  8. Choose a location in the File Explorer window. 
  9. Select Save. The report automatically populates the token data.
